🌸 Bhakti Yoga – The Path of the Heart
Post 1: What is Bhakti Yoga?
One rainy evening, the power went out in our home.
It was quiet—no TV, no phone calls, just darkness and a single diya flickering in the corner. My grandmother, sitting cross-legged by the window, began softly singing “Shri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram.”
I didn’t understand all the words.
But something shifted in me.
My chest loosened. My eyes watered.
That day, I realized—Bhakti isn’t learned. It’s felt. It is a feeling that lasts for a longer time.
🕊️ What Is Bhakti Yoga?
Bhakti Yoga is the path of love and surrender to the supreme who can submit ourselves
It’s not about complicated philosophies or perfect meditations.
It’s about feeling connected, in the deepest, simplest way.
Have you ever whispered a prayer when no one was watching?
Or looked at the moon and felt something greater pulling at your heart?
That’s Bhakti.
It doesn’t ask for logic.
It invites you to feel.
📜 Ancient Roots, Eternal Relevance
Thousands of years ago, the Bhagavad Gita declared:
“Offer Me even a leaf or a flower with love, and I will accept it.” (9.26)
No gold, no grand rituals. Just love.
The Upanishads said the Self is known not through intellect, but through devotion.
Even back then, our sages understood—peace doesn’t come from control. It comes from surrender.
🌹 Saints Who Lived Love
Think of Mirabai—a queen who gave up royalty for Krishna’s name.
They called her mad. She smiled, sang, and walked barefoot with her anklets jingling, chanting:
“I have only one desire now—to be lost in His name.”
Or Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, who danced on Bengal’s muddy streets, his eyes filled with tears and his tongue repeating “Hari Bol” like it was the only truth he knew.
Have you ever cried—not out of pain, but out of overwhelming love?
That’s what they lived every day.
💖 To Love God is To Know Peace
Bhakti Yoga teaches that God isn’t sitting far away in the clouds.
He’s right here, in the space between your heartbeats, in the softness of your breath.
To love God is not to fear Him—it is to feel at home in Him.
Not everyone will understand this path.
You may even doubt it sometimes.
But when you surrender—even for a moment—you’ll feel something the world can’t give: peace that doesn’t depend on circumstances.
🪔 Soul Practice – Feel, Don’t Analyze
Find a bhajan today. Maybe “Achyutam Keshavam”, “Om Namah Shivaya”, or whatever calls you.
Close your eyes. Don’t try to understand the words.
Just listen.
Let it melt into your bones.
Let your heart soften.
That’s all Bhakti asks.
